How it works

We do the drawing. You do the doing, and keep the savings.

  1. Send us what you've got

Photos, measurements, an old floor plan or a sketch. Tell us what you want to change.

  2. Fixed quote in 2 working days

One price for the whole job, agreed before we start. No hourly billing.

  3. Drawings, reviewed online

We draw it up. You comment online, and we amend until it matches what you want.

  4. You take it from there

Submit to the council, hand the plans to your trades or do it yourself. That's where the savings come from.

Bigger projects

Extending? Use all three, joined up.

A new kitchen extension changes the house, the room and the garden it opens onto. Send us the whole project in one email and get one combined fixed quote, with drawings that line up from the front door to the back fence.

Is The Plan Pal right for you?

We work alongside architects and designers, not against them.

Architects, garden designers and interior designers bring creative vision and run complex projects. The Plan Pal is a lower-cost route for everyday projects where you already know roughly what you want. If yours needs more, we'll say so before you pay anything.

A good fit for The Plan Pal

  • Straightforward extensions, lofts and conversions
  • Everyday back and front gardens
  • Living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms
  • You'd rather manage the trades and buying yourself

Better with a professional

  • Green belt, conservation areas and listed buildings
  • Large, steep or showpiece gardens
  • High-end or whole-house interior projects
  • When you want someone to design and run the whole job

We're happy to point you to local professionals we trust.

For builders, landscapers & fitters

One trade account. Three design services.

Open a trade account and we'll be your design office. Quote your customers for the whole job and win more work without waiting on a designer.

  • Trade rates agreed with you, reflecting the work we do together
  • Priority in our drawing queue
  • Your logo alongside ours on the drawings, if you'd like it
  • Monthly invoicing and one point of contact

A partnership, not a price list

Every trade partner works differently, so we don't publish trade rates. We get to know your business and how often you'll need us, then agree pricing that works for both of us.

Use us for the structure, the inside and the garden, all on one account.

FAQ

Straight answers

How much cheaper is The Plan Pal than an architect or designer?

Our fixed prices are at least 50% below typical UK fees. A complete planning and building regs pack for a single-storey extension is £1,195, against a typical £2,500–£5,000 from an architect. Garden designs start at £145 and room designs at £95.

Can I use more than one service on the same project?

Yes, and it's often the best way. Tell us everything you're planning in one email and we'll send one combined quote, with the drawings joined up so the extension, the rooms and the garden all fit together.

Do you visit my home?

No. Every service works from your photos, measurements and description, which is how we keep prices low. If anything's unclear, we email you for more.

Why is it so much cheaper?

No site visits, no project management and no mark-ups. We produce the drawings and plans, and you do the submitting, buying and hiring yourself.

When should I use an architect or designer instead?

For complex, high-end, listed or green belt projects, or if you want someone to come up with the ideas and run the whole job. We'll tell you before you pay anything if your project is better suited to them.

Which areas do you cover?

Planning and building regs drawings anywhere in England, and garden and interior design anywhere in the UK. With no site visits, location makes no difference to the price.

Can builders and trades use you?

Yes. Builders, landscapers, fitters and developers can open one trade account across all three services, with trade rates agreed with you and priority in the queue.
